Adventures in Batuu

Dok-Ondar’s in the Moonlight

Here a few more fun edits from my last trip to Disney. Being the nerd that I am, I really enjoy just walking around in Star Wars land and enjoying the atmosphere. Despite it being set in my least favorite Star Wars era, just being in a world that looks and feels like Star Wars is really awesome. Dok-Ondar’s shop is always fun to walk through, and if you haven’t been recently they Dok has now aquired Cal Kestis’ lightsaber (not to get nerdy, but technically it’s his Master’s, but you likely aren’t here for my overly strong Star Wars opinions).

Storm Troopers of the First Order

Of course, no trip to Batuu feels complete without riding Rise of the Resistance. I’m always looking for a new and interesting shot in this ride. The sets are really fantastic and it is a que and ride so you get the added challenge of trying to find a good shot and quickly get it before an officer from the First Order notices.

A little something for the folks that aren’t Star Wars fans…

Lastly, here is a shot for those that love Disney but just aren’t that into the whole Star Wars thing. I took this as the sun was starting to set over in California Adventure. I though the lighting on the Carthay Circle tower was really nice. You’ll notice just a hint of pink in that cream colored plaster, that’s from the sun.
