Hiking Mineral Ridge

Start of the Trail

Just a short drive around the lake to Beauty Bay, and then 800’ of climbing takes to a wonderful view of lake Coeur d’Alene in Northern Idaho. Not only does the 3 mile (round trip) hike get your blood pumping thanks to the elevation gain, but the scenery is fantastic. There is also some interesting history here: like a lot of places in this area, prospectors once scoured Mineral edge, digging exportation pits in search for valuable minerals. You can still see some of the holes today.

We still have some snow here in the mountains.

If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend taking the time to hike Mineral Ridge and of course bring your camera along for the journey.
